The WOA is now almost half way through its schedule of outings for Olympians to some of the top sports events at the Sochi Winter Games.

Groups of twelve Olympians are joining together to go to see sporting action here in Sochi and connect with each other. So far the groups have seen the Ladies Super Combined Alpine Skiing and Czech Republic v Sweden in Men's Ice Hockey. Next up is the Short Track Speed Skating: Ladies' 1500m Final and Men's 1000m Final on Saturday, followed by the Figure Skating Ice Dance Short Dance on Sunday and finishing with the Two Man Bobsleigh on Monday.

The groups have included Olympians of all ages and countries going right back to Rome in 1960 through to Olympians who have competed here in Sochi but have completed their programme.

Anne Cribbs, 400m medley relay Gold Medallist in swimming at Rome 1960, said: "It's been great meeting and mixing with Olympians from all over the world here. We have such a wonderful bond being Olympians and it's been so much fun. I'm just sad I can't stay longer."

Coming right up to date, Sochi competitor and five time luge Olympian, Shiva Keshavan, went to the Ice Hockey with Olympians from Holland, USA, Russia and Australia: "As a competitor you don't really get the chance to mix with Olympians of other eras. I'm so glad the WOA has given me the chance to spend some time with other Olympians and enjoy watching the Games with them."

This is the first time that the WOA has run a programme like this. It has been so successful that plans are already being made to expand the programme in Rio in 2016.
