Olympic Silver Medallist and IOC Athletes' Commission Chair, Claudia Bokel, is joining the panel at the WOA Sochi Breakfast at the Olympic Family Hotel on Tuesday. Also on the panel to discuss the role of Olympians within the Olympic Movement are new IOC Sports Director, Kit McConnell, and Olympic Bronze Medallist and WOA President, Joël Bouzou.

Following on from the highly successful WOA cocktail and lunch which were both held at the IOC Olympic Club in Sochi, the breakfast moves to a new venue, the Radisson Blu Olympic Family Hotel, which is the home during the Games to IOC members and senior staff, TOP Partners and Olympic Family members. It will follow the same format as the capacity crowd lunch which featured Olympians Pernilla Wiberg Bjerke and Shiva Keshavan talking about the winter Olympians experience.

The breakfast offers another opportunity for Olympians of all eras and nationalities to mix and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere, to make new friends and to re-connect with old acquaintances. The Q and A session will focus on the needs of Olympians in the modern era and the role they can play in transforming society and making the aspirations of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympics, become a reality.

WOA President, Joël Bouzou, said: "We are very pleased that Claudia is joining us on the panel. The IOC Athletes' Commission and the WOA working closely together can ensure that both the needs of Olympians at all stages of their lives are met and that Olympians can be mobilised to participate in service to society projects in their own communities."

IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell recently rejoined the IOC after ten years at the International Rugby Board where he was the Head of the Rugby World Cup department and the Rugby World Cup Tournament Director. Kit heads up the IOC Sports Department, which works with both the WOA and the IOC Athletes' Commission.
