WOA launches #TargetEbola resources kit for global sports organisations

3 | 12 | 2014

The WOA is asking sports federations around the world to get involved in #TargetEbola to help raise awareness and funds to stop the spread of Ebola in West Africa.

To make it even easier for organisations to get involved, a dedicated resources page has been set up on the #TargetEbola website. Go to targetebola.org/resources to find out what you can do to get behind this important campaign.

The resource page details different ways that sports organisations can get involved, including; activating athletes and members; promoting #TargetEbola on social media; running fundraisers and delivering powerful and informative presentations to help raise awareness of the campaign.

Latest figures from the World Health Organisation (WHO) confirm the current epidemic sweeping across the region has now killed more than all other known Ebola outbreaks combined.

The total number of reported cases is in excess of 15,000 but these figures are widely agreed to be underestimates given the difficulty in obtaining data from rural Africa.

Together we can make a difference. The WOA has teamed up with international humanitarian organisations Oxfam and Medisend and with your help we can raise awareness and funds to deliver much-needed medical supplies and aid where they are needed most.
