German Olympians launch re-brand

The German Olympians Association has launched a new, interactive website as part of a re-brand for the organisation.

Under the stewardship of recently appointed Christian Breuer, Olympic speed skater in Nagano in 1998 and Salt Lake City in 2002, the organisation is aiming to step up its activity by providing further support for athletes at all stages of their careers and promoting social cohesion in harmony with the Olympic values of excellence, respect, friendship, solidarity and inspiration.

Speaking of his plans for the German Olympians Association, Breuer said:

"This is an exciting time for German Olympians and the new website launch reflects that. We are on our way to creating a timeline of upcoming events and initiatives that will aim to raise the profile of Olympians across the country while creating greater support for all Olympians.

"We are planning on having a 50-year reunion of the 1964 Tokyo Games this summer together with the German Olympic Academy, this will provide a great opportunity for our Olympians to catch up and meet old friends."

The new website was designed and created by Italian Olympian Speed Skater, Dino Gillarduzzi, who also competed in the Salt Lake City Games in 2002 and now runs his own design company in his native Italy.

Breuer added: "We're delighted that we were able to employ a fellow Olympian to design and create the new website. This goes to show how strong our network is."
