Female Olympians to benefit from business mentoring programme

29 | 7 | 2014

The International Women’s Forum (IWF) and EY have joined forces to create a unique mentoring programme in the hope of unlocking the untapped business leadership potential of Olympians and elite female athletes. The Women Athletes Business Network Mentoring Programme will pair retired female athletes with top female business leaders in order to help open doors and create new career and leadership opportunities for those looking to transition from sport to business.

Applications for the inaugural year of the programme are currently open and EY is inviting female athletes to take a look at the opportunities available. The 25 successful applicants will be chosen based on their unique potential to become impactful leaders outside of their sport. They will then be matched with top female business leaders from the IWF’s network of 6,000 senior women executive mentors from 33 countries, across five continents, who have reached the pinnacle of leadership in their respective fields. The mentors will then share their insights, lessons and leadership expertise with mentees.

Athletes who have already retired from sport and those who are in transition to a career in business, non-profit or other professional spheres are invited to apply for the programme.

For the purposes of this programme elite athletes are defined as having currently or previously competed professionally or semi-professionally or at the national or international level. Applications close on 1 August 2014. For more information please visit the Women Athletes Business Network by clicking here
