WOA mourns the passing of Patrick Baumann

World Olympians Association is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of IOC Member Patrick Baumann. 

Driven by a deep love of sport, Patrick was also Secretary General of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and President of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF).

He was a highly respected figure, who was instrumental in the growth and leadership of the sport of basketball. As an IOC Member, his energy, commitment and vision for the future of the Olympic Movement and his strong belief in the values of Olympism means the impact of his sudden loss will be felt by Olympians and the wider sporting community around the world.

On behalf of all Olympians, our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
