For the third year running the SimiSleighs Foundation is providing grants for female Olympians worldwide, empowering them by providing crucial financial support for training, competition, and personal development. The Foundation, led by WOA Olympians for Life awardee Simidele Adeagbo OLY, is once again running its highly popular six-month virtual programme.
The grants are open to female Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls aiming to represent their countries at the Milano-Cortina 2026 or Los Angeles 2028 Games. With a financial support package of up to $5,000 USD, the grant aims to help athletes cover the expenses associated with high-level training and international competition. The programme also provides valuable personal and professional development opportunities, fostering a sense of community and mentorship among women in sport.
“For many female athletes, the difference between achieving their dreams or not often comes down to access—access to resources, opportunities, and support,” said Simidele Adeagbo OLY, founder of the SimiSleighs Foundation. “This grant is a direct investment in the future of these women. The 2025 cohort will be part of a global movement that is reshaping the landscape for women in sport, and I am honoured to continue to support them on their journeys.”
2024 programme participant Helen Maroulis OLY said, “Throughout my journey, the SimiSleighs Foundation Athlete Grant Programme has been an incredible support. The tools I’ve gained—like personalised nutrition guidance and sports psychology strategies—have helped me maintain balance and stay focused, especially during intense competition. This programme has truly played a key role in my success, both on and off the field."
