WOA welcomes fully compliant audit

World Olympians Association (WOA) is pleased to announce a clean and fully compliant audit, following the organisation’s annual assessment by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Switzerland.
With their finances in such good shape, WOA is able to continue to run programmes and projects that fulfil its mission “to be of service to Olympians, thereby empowering them to make the world a better place.”
The healthy financial position built throughout 2017 has helped see them support a host of key initiatives, including the Service to Society grants programme, the NOA Development Fund and the Olympic Day outreach.
Additionally WOA is able to further develop more programmes into 2018, including its medical research project on post-career injury management, its life transition mentoring trial and its new Service to Olympians grants programme.
The announcement is testament to the WOA’s commitment to maintain the robust financial processes bought in by the Executive Committee, which works tirelessly to maintain the organisations ethos.
WOA President, Joël Bouzou, said:
“The news that we are, yet again, in a healthy financial situation is very important to our development as an organisation, as it means that we can continue to grow and enact more change than ever before. We are committed to benefiting Olympians around the world, and with this firm financial foundation behind us we can feel secure in our plans moving forward.
“To have a clean and fully compliant audit is also testament to the hard work and dedication of an extremely talented team at WOA. Behind all of our work is a committed group driven by the spirit of Olympism.”
