World Olympians Association Service to Society Grants

World Olympians Association (WOA) has established Service to Society grants to help National Olympians Associations (NOAs) run projects which further WOA’s mission of empowering Olympians to help make the world a better place.

Up to $5,000 USD will be awarded to an NOA from each continent. Application deadline is 31 August 2018.


WHO Applications should be made by National Olympians Associations or in partnership with the National Olympic Committee. Involvement of other relevant organisations is encouraged.
WHAT WOA’s mission and activities align with those of the IOC. Projects should have clear objectives which align to the promotion of Olympism in Society and the activities of the Olympic Movement.
WHEN The project should be delivered in the calendar year 2018 / 2019.
BUDGET Project costs should be outlined clearly.
FINANCE Funds will be paid by WOA bank transfer to the NOA or partner organisation bank account only. No personal bank accounts will be accepted, unless approved in exceptional circumstances by the WOA Grants Panel.
SUSTAINABILITY Projects should be developed with future sustainability in mind. Funding sourced from other organisations is encouraged as part of this. Funding can be applied to new or existing projects.
EVALUATION Successful applications will be required to produce a progress update with photographs in 2019 as determined by the WOA Grants Panel for each project.

The WOA Grants Panel, composed of WOA Executive Committee members from each continent, has been formed to oversee and to award grants. The WOA Grants Panel has sole discretion to select successful projects and reserves the right not to award any grants.
