OLY House, the WOA hospitality house for Olympians, formerly known as the Olympians Reunion Centre, will be at the iconic Paris headquarters of the French bank group Caisse d'Epargne. Caisse d’Epargne, a Premium Partner of both the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 and the Sponsor of the Olympic Torch Relay, is providing its building for the WOA to host Olympians from around the world during the Olympic Games in Paris.
Located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris at 5 Rue Masseran, the Caisse d'Epargne headquarters is classified as an historic monument by the French Ministry of Culture and is not normally open to the public. It follows in the tradition of previous OLY Houses located at other iconic locations such as the Customs House in Sydney in 2000, the Prince Jun Palace in Beijing in 2008, and the Wellington Barracks in London in 2012.
As in the past, OLY House with Caisse d'Epargne will be open every day during the Games. It has a great garden and there will be a big screen to watch the Games. OLY House will once again be supported by the IOC, which will promote its benefits and services for Olympians there, and will host events run by International Federations, National Olympic Committees and other NGOs.
Information for Olympians on how to pre-register and the events schedule at OLY House and e-OLY House will be sent out soon. Olympians can bring along their families and friends and can also register on the day. For health and safety reasons if OLY House nears capacity there may need to be a queuing system. Those who can’t make it to Paris will be able to join in on e-OLY House which will be open 24/7.
WOA President Joël Bouzou OLY said, "Once again, we have found the ideal venue to welcome Olympians during the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Thanks to our close collaboration with the International Olympic Committee and its generous support, we are able to provide Olympians and other members of the Olympic Family with a top-quality environment during the Olympic Games in Paris. And thanks to the French Olympians Association President and WOA Executive Committee Member Valèrie Barlois, who helped to connect us with Caisse d’Epargne, we will benefit from a venue steeped in history and the common values of the Olympic Movement."
IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell said: “Recognizing the importance of the Olympian community for the Olympic Movement, the IOC is delighted that its support for Olympians is enabling WOA to provide another quality OLY House at such an iconic location. This is one of the many ways that the IOC supports Olympians and elite athletes both at the Games and throughout their life beyond sport.”
Alain Di Crescenzo, President of the National Federation of Caisse d’Epargne, stated, "We are delighted to offer a meeting place for Olympians from around the world during the Paris Olympics because we share a common belief that sport is a powerful tool for cohesion and social inclusion. For Caisse d’Epargne, a Premium Partner of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, hosting OLY House reflects our commitment to being helpful to athletes, territories, and society."
