WOA Party in the Mountains at Slovenia House Cortina a big hit

The WOA had another great night during the Olympics at Slovenia House, this time in Cortina following in the footsteps of the wonderful party at Slovenia House at PyeongChang 2018

The Olympians who made it through the heavy snowfall enjoyed the finest Slovenian hospitality with traditional dishes and drinks being served. Of course there was music too.

No International Sporting event would be complete without a few speeches. So, the evening kicked off in style with brief but passionate words from WOA Patron HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco OLY, WOA President Pernilla Wiberg OLY, President of the Club of Slovenian Olympians Iztok Cop OLY and Slovenia Olympic Committee President Franjo Bobinac.

Their messages all keyed in on the power of the Olympic Movement to bring people together and the important role Olympians play in spreading the Olympic values in their communities.

Speeches done, Olympians from all five continents got down to the serious business of chatting, eating, drinking and a few even indulged in a bit of dancing.

So, a big thank you once again (or in our host’s language: še enkrat velika hvala) to the Slovenia NOC and NOA for hosting the WOA and the Olympian community. Their kindness and generosity exemplifies the Olympic Spirit to a T.
