200 Days to Go to Rio 2016

The World Olympians Association, along with NOAs around the globe, is celebrating today to mark 200 days to go until the Games of the XXXI Olympiad take place in Rio de Janeiro. Olympians will gather in Rio for a celebration of sport like no other – bringing the Olympic Games to South America for the first time.

But there is a lot of work to do before then not least for all the dedicated Olympians and Olympic hopefuls who are training hard and attempting to qualify for their place at Rio 2016. We stand with you and know that the run up to the Opening Ceremony on August 5^th will be filled with hardship and triumphs, setbacks and successes. We wish everyone still fighting for a place on sport’s greatest stage the very best of luck and we sincerely hope to see you all in Rio.

Plans for our Olympians Reunion Centre presented by EY continue to gather pace and we have lots of exciting ideas taking shape for the ORC during Games-time. We hope to be able to share further details on our ‘home away from home’ for Olympians in Rio very soon so watch this space. We firmly believe athletes are at the heart of the Olympic Movement and we will continue to update you on all our plans to help support Olympians during Rio 2016, in the lead up to the Games and beyond.
