British Rowers Bring a Touch of Gold to the ORC

Fresh from winning gold in the men’s four at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, British rowing Olympians Constantine Louloudis, Mohamed Sbihi and Alex Gregory stopped by the Olympians Reunion Centre by EY on Friday to celebrate with friends and family.

Speaking about his gold medal winning performance, Louloudis, said:

“It’s just incredible. Four years of hard work summed up in six minutes, which puts you incredibly on edge at the start and makes it hard to perform but we got the best out of ourselves today. To get the win, to notch up another victory for Team GB in this event, that’s five in a row, to join a pantheon of greats like Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent in some small way, is just the best thing a person in this sport can ask for.”

Commenting on the Olympians Reunion centre, which overlooks Lagoa Stadium and the Olympic rowing venue Louloudis added:

“It’s fantastic, it’s great to have the family here, great to have this place and what a view!”

The Olympians Reunion Centre also welcomed Olympian Katherine Grainger, Britain’s most decorated female Olympian, who picked up silver in the women’s pair on Thursday at her fifth Olympic Games, to the ORC. Grainger added her name to the growing number of Olympians who have signed the Olympians wall.
