Cyprus NOA supports next-gen Olympians
19 | 11 | 2020
The Cyprus Olympians Association has awarded 14 life-changing sponsorships to promising young Cypriot athletes.
The NOA supported BOOST4BEST programme will distribute $50,000 between young male and female athletes aged between 13 and 17 from a range of sports. Each athlete will receive $300 per month for an entire year to help finance the young athletes’ dreams of sporting glory. The sponsorships will fund access to training facilities, equipment and other essentials.
The project was able to get going following an MOU agreement between the Cypriot Olympians Association and the Parimatch Foundation. The Cyprus Council of Ministers has also provided valuable funding to support Cyprus NOA’s operational costs and assist in hosting a series of events to promote the Olympic values and inspire physical activity in 2021.
The scholarship awarding event was attended by Cypriot Olympians and the Adviser to the President of the Republic of Cyprus on Sports, Mr. Fivos Zachariades, the President of the Cyprus Olympians Association, Mr. Costas Papacostas OLY and Chairwoman of the Parimatch Foundation, Mrs. Katerina Biloruska.
