Nominate now: Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards
10 | 7 | 2018
The International Olympic Committee has announced the launch of the 2nd annual Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards. The prestigious prize rewards outstanding coaches who have gone above and beyond to develop and nurture athletes in the spirit of Olympism.
As an Olympian you can nominate a coach that you believe deserves to be recognised. Individual Olympians, National Olympians Associations and National Olympic Committees are all eligible to nominate a coach for this prestigious Award.
The candidate can be active or retired, a coach in either Summer or Winter Olympic sports. The only requirement is that they have coached in at least one edition of the Olympic Games.
Other qualities the panel will be looking for include the coach’s status as a role model for athletes, cutting-edge training methods and practices, a track record of looking after the wellbeing of athletes and ways in which they have enriched their sport and the Olympic Movement in general.
After the success of last year’s inaugural awards – won by legendary US swimming coach Jon Urbanchek in the men’s category, and the long-serving and inspirational Japanese artistic swimming coach Kaneko Masako in the women’s – there are high hopes that the 2018 edition will attract even more nominations.
To nominate your coach, fill in the online form from the link below explaining why your nominee should win this year’s IOC Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Please include this MANDATORY ENDORSEMENT FORM with the nomination
The nominations process opened on Monday 9 July 2018 and will close on 12 August 2018 so get the word out to Olympians in your network. The two winners will be invited to attend the Olympism in Action Forum in Buenos Aires during which the Award Ceremonies will take place.
