$10,000 in funding up for grabs at World Olympians Forum

World Olympians Association has announced it is to offer 2 x $5000 USD cash grants to National Olympians Associations (NOAs) at the World Olympians Forum in Lausanne next month.
Five NOAs will be invited take part in an innovative Grants Battle where they will pitch their project idea to convince a jury and fellow Olympians who should take home the money.
In line with the WOA mission, the grants are to help NOAs run projects that benefit Olympians and / or their local communities.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Starting now WOA is calling for NOAs attending the forum to APPLY. The deadline for applications is 1 April 2019.
WOA will select the top five applications which meet the eligibility criteria below.
The chosen five will go on to battle it out at the World Olympians Forum on 17 April 2019.
Each chosen NOA will have five minutes to pitch their project idea in English in front of an expert jury and Forum attendees followed by a Q&A. Winners will be announced at the Forum after the judging has taken place.
THE TYPES OF PROJECTS WOA WILL FUND
In line with its annual Grants Programme, WOA is looking for projects that benefit Olympians or the good work Olympians are doing to support their local communities. Some of the programmes WOA has funded in the past:
- Skill building & education workshops for Olympians (media training, resume / CV building etc)
- Reunion activities to celebrate Games anniversaries
- Creation of digital platforms to engage NOA members
- Programmes that promote social cohesion in communities
- Environment and sustainability action plans
- Events aimed at getting the community active to assist in obesity prevention
- Giving underserved communities access to sport
ELIGIBILITY
- All NOAs who are at the WOA Forum can apply
- Projects must be Olympian-led
- Projects must be delivered within 12 months
- Joint applications from NOAs and NOCs are encouraged
