World Olympians Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Canada’s Marie-Ève Marleau OLY as Project Manager following an exhaustive global recruitment process. Marie-Ève will join WOA’s management team at its head office in Lausanne, Switzerland in October, focusing on WOA communications and events.

“I am thrilled to join WOA in the role of Project Manager,” Marie-Ève said. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to live and work in the heart of the Olympic Movement in Lausanne and I can’t wait to get started. As an Olympian myself, I understand the importance of making sure Olympians feel supported and connected throughout their lives. In my new role I hope to build on the vital work WOA already carries out in this area.”

Marie-Ève represented Canada in diving at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, finishing 7th in the 10 metre platform. She has a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from the Université de Montréal and for the past six years has worked as Manager of Athlete Marketing for the Canadian Olympic Committee, bringing with her a wealth of relevant experience to her new WOA role.

“We are delighted Marie-Ève is joining us at WOA,” said President Joël Bouzou OLY. “Olympians have a huge amount to offer thanks to the years of hard work, dedication and skill it takes to compete on sport’s greatest stage and I have no doubt Marie-Ève will make a fantastic addition to the WOA team.”

As part of her role Marie-Ève will work in close collaboration with the management team and external partners on the delivery of WOA’s Tokyo 2020 Games-time activities and OLY House, and other events such as WOA General Assembly, World Olympians Forum and continental workshops.

In addition, she will develop and deliver the WOA communications strategy across all platforms and drive implementation of the WOA digital strategy.

Marie-Ève joins at a time of growth for the organisation, which has added two additional staff members in the past 12 months as part of its NOA Development Programme. Jovina Choo OLY (Asia) and Amaranta Acosta (Americas) have both hit the ground running as WOA Development Officers, helping to support the ongoing growth and expansion of NOAs in their regions, while raising the profile of Olympians across society. WOA has plans in place to expand the programme further, with the addition of a Development Officer for Africa in the coming months.
