Ugandan Olympians reconnect for the first time

The Uganda Olympians Association has honoured 28 Olympians in celebration of their sporting achievements.

Last week’s event saw generations of Olympians that competed as far back as Rome 1960 reunite for the first time at the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) headquarters in Lugogo.

Mary Musani OLY, Uganda’s first ever female Olympian, was one of the Olympians honoured in recognition of their contribution to Uganda’s Olympic legacy.

After its huge success, the hope is that the event will become biannual with the Olympians enjoying being able to openly talk about a range of topics and hearing how to stay involved as an Olympian beyond retirement.

“I planned for a brief stay. But I must confess I was also moved by the presence of such a wide spectrum of stars,” said UOC president William Blick.

If you would like to arrange for old friends and fellow Olympians to share memories, re-connect and celebrate your sporting achievements you can learn how to HERE.
