Shape the Future of Support for Olympians
9 | 5 | 2025
As the global conversation around athlete compensation evolves, most recently reignited by the introduction of prize money for Athletics gold medallists at Paris 2024, it is more important than ever to better understand how Olympians are supported on their journey to the world’s biggest sporting stage.
In light of this, I am pleased to share an important research initiative led by three postgraduate students from the internationally renowned FIFA Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport. Their thesis explores the financial and institutional structures that underpin the Olympic experience, aiming to highlight both the strengths and gaps in athlete support worldwide.
They have prepared a short survey, which will take approximately 10 minutes, to gather insights directly from Olympians like you. Your voice is vital to ensure this research reflects the real experiences and needs of our community. I encourage you to take part.
Please note that this survey is for Olympians aged 18 and over only. All responses will be anonymised. The deadline to complete the survey is 1st June 2025.
