The World Olympians Association has just shared the recently completed audit report of its financial statements for 2023 by PwC in Switzerland with its member National Olympians Associations (NOAs), marking another five years of clean audits in a sequence that now stretches back more than a decade.
The audit reports are shared with NOAs as they are finalised and then presented to the WOA General Assembly every four years.
WOA President Joël Bouzou OLY said: “Our financial processes are robust and our annual financial statements are accurate as validated by PwC, one of the world’s “Big Four” accounting firms. I would like to thank our Treasurer, our administration staff and our external accountant for their diligence and hard work on this over the years.”
WOA Treasurer Patrick Singleton OLY said: “We have very strong controls in place. For instance, four separate signatures are needed before any payment can be made. Our highly experienced Swiss external accountant runs our accounting function. And when specific specialised tax or other advice is needed, we enlist the help of top Swiss or International legal or accounting companies.”
WOA Secretary General Anthony Ledgard OLY said: “We always share our annual financial information with our members, the 111 National Olympians Associations, in accordance with our constitution. We are looking forward to meeting them in person at our next General Assembly in September and answering any questions they may have.”
