Italian former F1 driver, Riccardo Patrese; Italian football international and AC Milan legend, Marco Simeone; and French former footballer, Jose Cobos, have become the latest sports stars to back the WOA’s #TargetEbola campaign to raise funds to help stop the spread of Ebola.

Posing for pictures with the #TargetEbola logo and donation details, the three stars gave their backing to the campaign days after five-time Olympian, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, recorded a video message asking Olympian colleagues and fellow sports stars to support the campaign.

The #TargetEbola campaign was launched in October after Dr Francis Dove Edwin, two-time Olympian from Sierra Leone who was appointed to the Presidential task force to help stop the spread Ebola in the country, asked the WOA to help raise funds.

The WOA has joined forces with Oxfam, one of the world's leaders in emergency response, and US humanitarian NGO Medisend International, a global leader and innovator in transforming healthcare systems in developing countries.

Patrese, Simeone and Cobos join HSH Prince Albert II and other Olympic legends including, Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, Sergey Bubka, Claudia Bokel, Koji Murofushi, Pernilla Wiberg and Yang Yang who are already supporting the campaign.

The WOA is also appealing to the rest of its 100,000 strong Olympian community around the world to get involved and publicise #TargetEbola, the donation link, www.targetebola.org/donate, and the SMS details, Text TARGET to 70066 [UK only], by posting selfies via social media.

The #TargetEbola selfie kit can be downloaded here: www.targetebola.org/selfie

Olympians and the general public are encouraged to print off the kit and pose for a ‘selfie’. Alternatively anyone can write #TargetEbolatargetebola.org/donate and the SMS number on a piece of paper and take a selfie with it.
