WOA President Joel Bouzou travelled to Lausanne for the IOC Sport and Active Society Commission meeting last week where he was able to share the work of the WOA including the expansion of World Fit, an active lifestyle programme developed by US Olympians to help tackle childhood obesity. World Fit seeks to get middle school children off their sofas and outside to walk for forty minutes a day as a way of beginning to change their lifestyle and as a precursor to involvement in sport. World Fit has been hugely successful in the USA. Working with the WOA, WorldFit will be trialled in England and then rolled out across the world.

During the Commission meeting IOC President Thomas Bach praised the work of the WOA and invited Joel to his office to have a photograph taken beside the framed World Olympians Forum Declaration of Support for the Olympic Charter which was signed in Moscow by Olympians from each Continent and presented to the IOC President at the Forum.
