Olympians ‘Chat with Champions’ huge success at YOG

21 | 1 | 2020

Olympians of all ages, sports and nations have been passing on the benefit of their experiences to those taking part at the Winter Youth Olympic Games, Lausanne 2020.

What does it take to make it to the top?

What is the best way to stay motivated during injury?

How do you create a personal brand that is authentic?

As part of the wider Athlete365 activation delivered by the IOC Athletes’ Commission to educate and inspire the next generation of athletes, these are just some of the questions that Olympians have been answering as part of the ‘Chat with Champions’ series during Lausanne 2020. From mental health to career transition, the helpful advice that Olympians can share was once again on display.

The relaxed sessions run during the YOG have been a fun, interactive way for Olympians to chat with young athletes and share their experiences.

With youth engagement and education being a key theme of Lausanne 2020, the IOC Athletes’ Commission members and Athlete Role Models (ARMs) have been involved throughout the games, spending time mentoring the 1,880 young athletes and leading education programmes on topics such as concussion, stress or fatigue-management and nutrition.
