Get paid to support student athletes

8 | 9 | 2020

Are you looking for paid freelance work that gives you opportunities to network, share and travel? Would you like to support and nurture the next generation of athletes?

World Academy of Sport (WAoS), in partnership with the International Baccalaureate schools organisation, is seeking Olympians to be assessors for the Athlete Friendly Education Centres (AFEC) project, preferably based in the Asia Pacific and European regions.

This expansion of the AFEC scheme follows successful pilot projects with GB Olympians run in conjunction with WOA. The AFEC scheme certifies educational centres that provide flexible learning and support structures to enable student athletes to balance their sport and education. The Olympian assessors evaluate an institution on their structures and personnel in order to be awarded the AFEC certificate.

Applicants will attend an online training programme which will be a combination of modules and live skill sessions. This will take place over a two-week period for approximately 12 hours in total, with participants having a choice of two training blocks across two time zones.

  • For Asia Pacific: 19 - 30 October
  • For Europe: 2 - 13 November

The training agenda and times will be provided to successful applicants with all costs covered by WAoS. Assessors must have a good level of English as the workshops and all communications will be given in English only.

The deadline of 30 September is fast approaching so don’t miss out on an opportunity to gain paid professional experience, meet new people and help make a difference.
