Greek Olympians gather for a memorable annual meeting filled with pride and shared values

In March 2026, Greek Olympians came together for their annual meeting — an evening of warmth, pride, and genuine Olympic spirit that reunited athletes who have represented Greece on sport's greatest stage.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of OLY pins to Olympians who had not yet received them. Among those honoured was Yann Genty, OLY, French Olympic gold medalist in handball at Paris 2024, who currently competes with AEK Athens and was warmly welcomed by the Greek Olympians in a gesture of friendship and shared Olympic values.

The evening also brought an important announcement: Voula Kozompoli, OLY, President of the Greek Olympians, has been elected to the Executive Board of the World Olympians Association, a proud recognition for her and for the entire Greek Olympians community.

The gathering was further distinguished by the presence of Spyros Capralos, OLY, President of the European Olympic Committees and IOC member for Greece, and Giorgos Mavrotas, OLY, General Secretary of the Ministry of Sports. More than an annual meeting, this was a celebration of shared memories, lasting friendships, and the enduring values that unite Olympians across generations and borders.

Cyprus Olympians launch animated Fair Play campaign in cinemas across the island

The Cyprus Olympians Association has unveiled an animated video celebrating Fair Play, a value at the heart of the Olympic spirit, as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting Olympism among younger generations and the wider public.

The video was created through the initiative and financial support of Dr. Andros Karapatakis, OLY, Vice President of the Cyprus Olympians Association and Cyprus' appointed Fair Play Ambassador for 2025–2026. Through vibrant animation, it conveys the importance of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship in a way that is accessible to audiences of all ages.

The video is being screened throughout April and May 2026 in theatres across Cyprus. The Cyprus Olympians Association warmly invites the World Olympians Association community to watch and share it within their own networks, helping carry the message of Fair Play to the global Olympian family.
