8 | 9 | 2015

National Olympians Associations [NOAs] from 96 countries have so far registered to attend and take part in the inaugural World Olympians Forum [WOF] and the WOA General Assembly which will take place in Moscow, Russia from 20 – 22 October 2015.

“This is a great uptake in such a short period of time,” said WOA President Joel Bouzou. “Interest in attending the inaugural World Olympians Forum has come from all continents and nations large and small. This will be a major event for the future of the World Olympians Association and the service we can provide for our Members.”

As a result of requests to extend the registration deadline for those countries who need more time to choose their delegates, the WOA has also confirmed that the deadline for registration has been extended to Monday 21 September 2015 to assist NOAs who want to register but have not yet done so.

The 2015 WOF, established by the WOA in partnership with the Russian Olympic Committee, will bring together NOAs, Olympians, representatives of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Family, Governments and other key Olympic, sporting and non-governmental stakeholders to share best practices and discuss the topics of greatest interest to Olympians.

IOC President Thomas Bach will head a list of senior executives and opinion formers who will take part in the inaugural World Olympians Forum.

NOA Presidents must register their NOA via this online form which will ask for details of the lead representative for the NOA by the 21 September deadline. It will not be possible to register your NOA after this date for logistical reasons.

Members are also able to nominate WOA Executive Board candidates for the elections which will take place during the General Assembly on 22 October 2015. To nominate a candidate please complete the WOA Executive Board candidacy form via this linkThe deadline for nominations is 5 October 2015.

Those who have already registered for the WOF and General Assembly will begin hearing from the Russian Olympic Committee Organising Committee soon regarding travel, visas etc once they have been verified.
